When a tree is cut down and a stump remains, overtime shoots from the still living root system will sprout and eventually your tree will try to re-grow. The only way to permanently remove the tree and it’s root system is to grind the stump several inches below ground level. The tree will be completely removed and the remaining root system will die and rot.
